Hello world-wide-web!

Jonathan here and I am so excited to launch my new website for Galactic Goose Productions! What started out as an idea to make some funny videos with a good friend of mine has blossomed into a full-fledged video production company! I realized that my potential is way beyond getting a couple hundred views on YouTube and with the encouragement from my wife and other family members, I have decided that it is in fact time for me to put my skills to use and turn this into a career.

After putting my resumé and portfolio into countless companies to try and get a job editing video, I have made the decision to work for myself. I know that starting off is not going to be easy, but I am confident that I will improve as I get more jobs and continue making passion-projects of my own.

I've decided to start this blog as an addition to my website so that I can share with you my experiences on my journey to becoming a full-time filmmaker. I hope to share things that I learn and struggle with and also share accomplishments and milestones.

For the beginning of this process, I am implementing the "Free-to-Fee" technique. Basically this is a method of building up a portfolio of some awesome material with getting little to no compensation. The idea behind this is that if I offer to make a video for someone without charging them for my services, that is free exposure and advertising for them. The video will not only go up on my YouTube channel, but they will also be free to use it however they like. This will be mutually beneficial because if either of us gets more traction than the other, we are able to let people know about the other and grow our clientele. My invitation to any that may be reading this blog post that have a product or service and have been thinking about making a video for your business, get in touch with me and we'll see what we can work out. This obviously is not intended to be long term. I can only afford to work for free or very little for so long. But while I am offering this for now, the only thing that I will for sure request is a testimonial of satisfaction. Just like a product needs awesome reviews to sell, I need awesome testimonials to sell myself.
